envirO₂ is low odour and has very low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, with less than one gram per litre, earning it GreenTag's GreenRATE Level A certification and PlatinumHEALTH status.
The new premium range includes water based enamel semi gloss, acrylic sealer undercoat, ceiling flat and interior low sheen and matt paint.
"Some low VOC paints can compromise on performance, but envirO₂ delivers a premium finish that is washable, stain resistant and helps prevent moult growth without compromising on quality and application properties such as opacity and finish," says Sue Pham, Dulux senior brand manager.
The Global GreenTag Certification Program is an ACCC Approved Certification Mark recognised in every green building rating tool used in Australia and New Zealand. It certifies more than 14,000 products, for more than 120 companies with factories in 22 countries across four continents. All GreenTag certified products must be legally compliant and proven 'fit-for-purpose', completing an extensive audit across specific category ratings.
HealthRATE Tags rate the healthiness of use of products to inform end users and consumers how the products will influence the health of their work and home environments. PlatinumHEALTH status is the top performance tier and is achieved when the product is completely free of toxicity in use.
"Paints don't often list ingredients on the label or in their Safety Data Sheets," says David Baggs, CEO and program director of the global GreenTag Certification Program, "but even if they did, how many people would know how or take the trouble to figure out what that information means?"
"By default, people tend to fall back on whether a product is 'low odour' or not. It's not a great indicator and consumers would be better informed selecting a product that is eco-labelled."
The GreenTag Certification Program, says Baggs, was developed to meet the need to make healthy, planet-aware, ethically soured and trusted product choices simple for industry and consumers.
Eco-labels are intended to break town trust and information barriers for those hoping to make healthy, ethical choices. Global GreenTag is listed by Mobium as among the top 20 most recognised eco-labels.
